Founder María Sherry Lacson Tan made significant contributions to Maricalum Farm School, including the establishment of a Bahay Kubo dedicated in her honor.
Her contributions were acknowledged by a Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) at the Ontario Legislative Assembly for Bill 217.
This bill designates June as Filipino Heritage Month each year.
Highlighting her impactful role in promoting and preserving Filipino culture within the province of Ontario.
She was also PDIC Ms/Mrs. Philippines Canada Ambassador 2022!
